Welcome to the forum. That's a plan, but make sure you take into account where you are going to park that RV nightly. RV parks range from $20 to $100+ a night. Some places don't allow overnight parking of RVs (some do). There's sometimes Walmarts, Cracker Barrels, etc. Depending on the size of the family you can't go more than a few days without dumping the tanks (Fee required if not staying there) and refilling the fresh water tank.

So make sure you take all the variables into account before deciding that this plan would be better financially.
