The new instrument display (when Ford switched to the Godzilla engine) is similar to the F-series. My 2017 F-150 has a vertical display to the right of the speedo showing current gear, 1 through 10 in my case.
Although the displays are different, the SELECTION process to get the display to show may be the same... or at least similar.
On my F-150 there is a "+/-" button on the column shifter stalk. With the shifter in "D" (Drive) press the + or - to get different shift modes... or turn it on/off as desired. Messing around with it, it's pretty intuitive.
