I have forgotten a few times to flush antifreeze through the outside shower and it never have me a problem when it froze.

Why? I think that the vinyl tubing to the controls as well as the tubing to the shower head is flexible enough to accommodate the expansion of freezing and apparently the valves are ok with freezing.

Some valves aren't and I have had home valves bust in freezing inside temps.
