Artis Water Pump on Tuscany 42RQ

My original Artis water pump on my 2012 42RQ never would pump well. About a year and a half ago, I bought a much high capacity ShurFlo and was surprised to find my pump was not where Thor indicated it would be in the wet bay, down low, but instead mounted on top of the water tank in a difficult location under the slide. It also is having to pump water from the bottom of the fresh water tank below up to the pump and then pump it through the system.

Two questions, is that where your pump is mounted, more towards the bottom of the tank and in the wet bay, or is yours in a strange position like mine?

I need to be able to count on that pump in dry camp situations and I cannot.

Any observations will be appreciated.
