We park our camper, turn on the generator, turn on the AC, and leave the dogs in it on a regular basis. We've done this a hundred times.
Once, in the Keys, we turned on both units due to no shade and 100 degrees (with 2 AC's in a 30 footer, our unit gets chilly even in triple digit temperatures).
Generally we do this for a few hours, but we've done it for longer as needed.
One of the reasons we bought a camper.
