If it is set up like our Outlaw RV, when not on shore or generator power, it will only work if the inverter is turned on. Check it out.
IMHO, I do not believe it is using any unnecessary power when it is not turned on. So, I would not worry about it if you are thinking that your electric bill is climbing while that television is plugged in, and not turned on being used.
So unless you want it out so you can sell it, it's kind of a moot point to worry about.
