Hello from a full timer going on 3 years now

My husband and I sold everything and hit the road going on three years this fall. Not a day goes by that we regret it.
We started with a 1999 30'c and she served us well but since we love the lifestyle felt we needed more room and something newer.
In May we purchased a 2014 Thor Tuscany xte 36'mq. There has been small issues which we were expecting and they have been dealt with. We love living off the grid and are going to have solar installed in the fall.
We are currently taking it out on its big maiden voyage. First thing we have found out and wondering if we are doing something wrong. We have a residential frig, four house batteries, two coach batteries and a 2000 magnum inverter charger. While driving the house batteries are not charging. Have read that this could be true, so next question.....can we run the generator while driving to charge the house batteries or are we missing something. Any help would be appreciated. We are heading out tomorrow and any advice would be great. Thanks
