85 octane is only sold out west, as far as I know. Regular gas east of the Mississippi and many states west, is 87 or above octane gas. The first time I took my RV out west, I put in 85 octane before I realized that it existed and I got engine knock and reduced power. The engine specs call for 87. I would not use 85, especially in mountainous areas.
