Unless I'm misreading your question, 6-Volt batteries have to be added in pairs to get 12-Volts. I'm not sure under what conditions you would add one extra 6-Volt battery.

If your Vega has one 12-Volt battery, it should be easy to replace it with two 6-Volt batteries. If you do a forum search, you'll find owners who have done such upgrades.
