I park my motorhome under a 40 foot RV carport. Started off with just a roof and half way down the sides but then had them come back and completely close it in except for the front. I am a big proponent of keeping an RV out of the sun, which dries up seals, roof, makes plastic brittle, fades your paint/fiberglass, etc. Once that process starts, then come the leaks. The cost of the RV carport was not as bad as I thought it would be, $5-6K. If you consider the damage that sun and rain can do to your RV, money worth the spend. Of course, not everyone has the room for such a large garage.
