Windshield Movement, Normal?
Hello, I have a 2019 25.6 Vegas with 40k miles.
I dont know if Im losing my mind but during a cross canada/US trip I started to notice that the windshield was moving side to side relative to the a pillar covers. The pillow covers are pinched behind the window frame, so I think they’re pretty secure.
I started to notice this after hearing a large pop coming from the right side and the left side when driving into a parking lot with a small ramp transition, nothing crazy. I’ve done it 1000 times before.
the next day , I started to notice the windshield was moving about an 1/8th to 3/16 of an inch side to side relative to the covers for the pillar when driving making turns especially.
Being concerned, I took it to a windshield shop recommended by LCI duncan and they reset the entire glass, took it completely off, cleaned it up and reset it.
I thought that was the end of my worries but as I was driving off, I noticed the same issue.
Like I said, I’m not sure if I’m losing my mind and I just started to notice this after owning this RV for four years or if there’s something else other than the windshield that has lost its rigidity? I thought the popping sound I heard when going up the transition ramp from street to parking lot was due to failure of the urethane windshield adhesive. But I’m thinking now that it was some more structural.
Any advice to where I can look would be greatly appreciated, I’m not sure if this is normal or if something structurally has broken and I just can’t find it.
From what I’m seeing, I’m not hearing anything or feeling anything When driving. Everything seems normal when I’m driving.
I think the new window company did a good job pulling the window and resetting it properly so I don’t believe that’s the issue. They also indicated that they did not see where the other thing may have failed when pulling the window. There’s no cracks in the glass. I am lost for any possible explanation.
