As one who used the sofa bed every night, it's the reason we are finally awaiting delivery of an Axis. Besides the comfort of the deployed bed being less than desirable until a memory foam mattress was purchased, it was difficult to get around for the person sleeping in the cab over in our class c. Also, the lack of a real bed was a drag. We just got tired of pulling the thing out every night. There was a tiny space between the end of the bed and the barrel chair across from it making midnight trips to the bathroom tricky for the cabover sleeper. Consequently when we began searching and wandering through hundreds of trailers, mh, and 5ers, one of the first things we looked for was access when different configurations were employed. Of particular interest was bathroom access with slides in when on the road but other things as well. It's amazing what you begin to notice. We've found many with access to everything with slides in save a drawer to two maybe. That made us think about what we might want to put in those drawers if we might not have access.
You're not the first, Tbone1903, and won't be the last to miss this important point, but I'll bet it never happens to you again.
Happy trails.
