Have you been able to use these directly underneath the roller?

The reason I as is because after the failure, I cut a piece of tile off the failed section and from the outside I installed it directly behind the roller. When the slide was extended, it pushed the piece out.

I'm thinking that the slide slickers would just be pushed in by the roller when retracting the slide.
