requires that only oil meeting their specs be used in the Sprinter diesel engine. That latest specification is 229.52 My manual also approves 229.51
Low ASH oils are required or they can damage your DPF (Diesel particular Filter) Damage from using the wrong oil is not covered by warranty $$$$.
Approved oils are available at the MB dealers and NAPA. NAPA often has the correct oil on sale although my NAPA has to order the oil.
