Chance...I agree with much of what you're saying. There is indeed too much road rage and other unnecessary violence going on in the world today over a lot of trivial stuff; but I have to side with Joe-Fl on this one. You can't allow someone to run over you and take advantage. If it was his dog that did this (and it rightly appears as if it was), maybe he'll think twice before allowing him to desecrate on someone else's belongings next time. The old Golden Rule applies here.
