Here is a picture of the support arms on our 2015 Vegas 24.1 Carefree awning. If you look closely you can see the tilt adjust holes in the arm that goes from the lower right to upper left in the picture. The silver adjustment pin can be seen in the lowest hole (silver pin). Tis pin adjustment works like the pins you find in most folding table legs.

The front and rear arms have these adjustment holes. Pin in lowest hole = awning in highest position. Pin in highest hole = awning in lowest position. We have ours set so the awning is highest in front and lowest in back. Water and condensation runs off the awning rear forward corner.

You do not have to reposition the pin to retract the awning.
