Woah!

That's a whale of a yellowfin. We have to go out overnight to get to those. It's nearly 10 hrs boat time each way. I seldom (3-4 times/year) go offshore and usually just 15-20 miles for snapper during Fed season and then troll rest of day for mahi, wahoo, black fin and the occasional sail.

We're on SPI on the S Texas coast close to the Mexico border. Mostly bay fish for speckled (spotted sea) trout, flounder and red drum. Did hook two casts in a row up to a 3-4 ft tarpon on a silver spoon this fall but on 8 lb test.

Anyway.... 86 F here Saturday so everything is good.

We like it on the bay. Only need to remember one simple rule in the unlikely event you fall overboard: "stand up......it's only 3 feet deep"
