If you are going to Alaska and/or northwest Canada, you have to buy a copy of Milepost. With the paper copy your get a web copy too. It has every establishment on every road and every road condition mile by mile thru NW Canada to Alaska. It is updated every year and has everything you need to plan and take your trip. You will miss a lot if you do not have a copy with you. They don't publish the new one until about 1 March, I believe.

Allstays is a great app for campgrounds. If has about every campground you would want to stay at and is easy to use with a map interface.

In NW Canada and a good part of Alaska, however, cell phone coverage is spotty at best and we found we used the paper copy of Milepost more often than not.
