I am a retired 3M labby, and the next time I have a chance to talk to one of the adhesive labby's, I will try to find out what they feel would be the best way to attach those blankets.
Once I know this, I will share it here.
I definitely would use some kind of an acetate based solvent to prime the surfaces.
