Get a good fibreglass boat wax like Starbright Gold. Boats are also covered with vinyl graphics and pin striping and it never hurt mine. You wont find a wax thats safe for black plastic trim. It always holds some wax or turns grey. You can either cover it with blue painters tape or clean the wax off with alcohol and a toothbrush.
