Luckily, the steering wheel doesn't lock when this happens. I checked with Hundai, and their customer care referred me to the dealer that referred me to them.... So I ended up wiring an additional accessory outlet direct from battery yesterday. All lights powered from RV. Apollo brake system is the only thing using battery... I did install a battery "maintainer". Comments/ advice?
One thing I did find out the hard way. The head lights on my toad (2016 GMC Terrain) go into "Auto" mode every time the car is turned on (ACC). This means that when the sun light is dim enough the toad head lights will come on. Headlights come off of the toad battery not the RV. Only the toad tail lights come off of the RV battery. So.... every time we were towing at dusk or on cloudy/raining days, I would run down the toad's battery...doh! Trickle charging is evidently not enough juice to keep up with what the toad headlights draw. So I made a simple procedure change to turn off the lights auto mode after turning the key to ACC position every time. It's the simple things right!
