That hose is a beast and I'm impressed you got it off. I know it's more money but the bend on the thick reinforced hose is what makes it fail. If you get a 30° or 45° metal connector and install it just outside the frame the hose should last a lot longer.
I made one out of copper plumbing - fitting and two pipe stubs each end with hose clamps. Been on for 5 years and no signs of leaks and no stress on the hose.
