Doc, that sounds a bit like me ... the printer was my slightly early birthday toy this year. I've been slightly involved with a couple 3D printed projects and the then results from home prints were part of what held me back from getting my own. Several friends and acquaintances have printers (mostly home built), so I've been able to observe their print results for a few years. Nice usable prints some were finally getting got me tossing serious thoughts back and forth about getting one for about the last year.
