My previous Class A had a bump that my local tire shop couldn't seem to balance away. They tried a process that was probably what you are referring to as being "rounded" which involved shaving a layer of rubber off the spinning tire mounted on the coach. I was told that I would never wear the tread off those RV tires, they would weather out first, which was true.
When that process didn't fix the bump, the next suggestion was that the wheel was probably bent, and it was switched with a rear wheel and tire. That reduced, but never eliminated the bumping.
If you aren't having an unbalanced bumping, I would wonder if that tech was trying to meet some kind of quota at your expense. Did he advise you to change the headlight fluid and aim the tail lights, too?
