Glad you found the problem. In the military we maintainers had an axiom -- trust but verify. Sometimes your own eyeballs are way better than asking if someone else did X, Y, or Z.

And when an aircrew was expeiencing a problem before takeoff and they called for a maintenence assist (REDBALL), the first thing we'd do when we got to the aircraft was to be sure the O-N, O-F-F switch was in the O-N position.
