I pack fewer tools, as the years roll on. About once a year, I drag it all out and decide what to put back in. Rather than cardboard, I take a cheap tarp in the original package.
Besides what has been mentioned. I have a few extras. A little mirror for checking the batteries with a flashlight. A small saw, just in case poor campground maintenance left branches too close. A small air compressor. A set of triangle road reflectors, hope they are never used! An assortment of wiring splices and ends, and electrical tape.
I keep a small bag under the bathroom sink with a multi tool. a multi screwdriver, and a small flashlight. One more thing, a big battery spotlight, just in case of emergency.
