Drilling the access hole and installing the plug was a great idea to allow you to apply water pressure from the hose right to the problem for the fix. Now go the extra step. Remove the plug and install a hose connection with a short pvc 1/2" nozzle on the inside pointing at your problem area. Then next flush just attach your water hose from the outside. Just an idea.
