Just for completeness as others may find this thread by searching - the answer is 'it depends..'

For windsport/hurricane - I expect the answer is no (and know that is true on my 2014 Hurricane) but it is possible to have an AGS - Automatic Generator Start - system and some of us do. It allows setting the voltage at which the generator kicks on and how long it should run.

Its only money... (as I said to my DW when the car alarm went off saturday evening and we walked outside to find the car off, locked, alarm sounding, battery almost dead, and side curtain air bags deployed front to back... but that is a whole 'nother story for another forum - as I wait on the GMC engineers to call me back this morning.)
