Thanks so much for the responses everybody.
We were pretty much thinking the same as the exact thing. Gonna bank a little cash and fix what I can myself... I am pretty comfortable with any mechanical repairs that may be needed since I was a mechanic in a previous life. I also am currently a contractor so I have the carpentry part covered as well.
