We have went with the Wineguard Travler DirectTV roof mounted on all three of our RV's. If you want HD and a dish to automatically locate satellite signals then for Direct it is about the only roof mount you can have. They have always worked well for us. Currently we have DirectTV at home so we simply take one receiver with us in the MH.
We have never been in a CG where we could not get a signal due to trees, but we ask in advance also. Some call and have location changed so you can get local channels, we don't do that anymore. We just use our antenna for local broadcasting.
There are some cheaper options out there if you go with Dish instead of DirectTV or if you don't need HD, or permanent mounting.
