THOR #1941
Smile 2 year American Adventure Complete

Hello Again,
First visited and joined the forum 2 years ago when we left Albuquerque in our 2015 Thor ACE 30.2 for an American adventure. Since then, drove RV 17500 miles (towing 2015 Forester 16500 miles), drove car 35,000 miles, avg RV (while towing) mileage 7.5mpg, cheapest US fuel 1.50 and most expensive 2.90). Home schooled the kids (now 11/12). Visited Canada (Calgary to Vancouver), 49 states (with a flight to Hawaii) and saving Alaska for future. Ended in NC and now settling down with the RV in a rental program (so far making $$ but still nervous). We had the best time and really believe we'll take up full timing again after kids complete high school.

The best thing I can say for the ACE is that we would still buy that model today. The 30.2 bunkhouse fit our needs and was the most practical for the purchase price (<85K new).
As with all MHs we encountered some repairs but all in all it was the right choice for us.
Mods:
Added an external sewer hose storage that worked out great
Added a roll out draw under the sofa
Added kitchen roll/foil/clingwrap holder to kitchen cabinet
Removed the dining table wall cushion and replaced with a wall storage box (under TV)
Added a storage box with wine glass holders to inside of front slideout wall
Added Black Tank Cyclone Vent
Replaced all 3 exhaust fans with Maxxfan 4500 units with fanmate covers
Replaced queen mattress with memory foam----so worth it

Warranty Items:
Replace water pump
Rewire hot water tank heater
Repair leaking passenger side window
Replace main door handle units (twice)
Replace awning led lights
Replaced coach batteries with larger capacity (our cost)

Things I would still like to do:
Add an inverter and solar panels for dry camping without gen use
Add a macerator and some sort of tank flush system (now included in 2016+ models)
Add HD automatic tuning antenna
Add driver and passenger dual pull down blinds
Add driver and passenger ceiling mini fans

We had a Blast! The Wightmans
