Locate and open the transfer switch. Its actually a heavy duty double pole, double throw relay. On many of them the relay has stranded wire pigtails. This allows the installer to quickly connect the coach cables to the stranded leads with wirenuts. On mine both of the #10 guage wires coming to the transfer switch were loosely connected at the wirenuts and the connections overheated and failed. Search for my post called Smoking or Non? If you are constantly tripping the Genny breaker you must be overloading it.
Been there done that with the DW using the AC + electric griddle + microwave trying to fix breakfast for 5 or 6 folks.
