It reduces the amount of air from the overhead ducts a lot when you open the added vent. The big plus is that it cools the living-cooking area down quicker. Although, if you need more ac in the back area, you can close the ac off on the grill vents and it diverts the AC thru the ducts very well.
I wish the blower had a lower more quieter speed for night time sleeping.
