On something small like a gun safe, a lot of options, but for larger areas (basements, garages, possibly houses and others) around here dehumidifiers are about the only option, if the HVAC doesn't handle it completely. We are typically 50% humidity during the day, and by sun down it's climbing past 60% and will typically be 80-90%+ in the overnight hours.

I figure for the RV, I'll start by keeping a WiFi temp/humidity gauge in it and see how high the humidity gets. If it mostly stays in the low 50s, then probably leave it alone. If it's routinely approaching or over 60%, then I would be afraid to leave it without some dehumidification.
