I also have a 2016 Vegas 25.2. I'm in the market for a bike rack and haven't yet found a solution that will not require unloading the bikes. That will only be an issue on those one night stops while you're on the road and probably not going to want to take a ride.
But the other potential issue is forgetting to unload the bikes before you put out the slide. That would be a big no no.
