Great location! Only 17 miles from our home in Astor, via the historic and scenic St. Johns River. A bit further by land. We cruise down there in our pontoon boat regularly. Food at restaurant is good but a bit pricey, IMO. But the beer is always cold and plentiful.
Restaurant, shops and marina are all new within the past couple of years. Recommend staying a few extra days and if you have a boat, bring it; there's 312 miles of river to explore! Our only potential conflict is Oct. 27th is also our 50th anniversary and I suspect our kids will be doing some sort of 'surprise' party, as they did for our 25th. Hoping we can set it up to arrive on the 28th!
