Yes, I considered putting one of those on the screen door. I even bought one. Didn't install it because I didn't like the idea of continually using a light screen door to pull close the main heavy door, trusting that the light screen door latch will always stay attached to the main exterior door.
Yes, I slide the clear plastic panel on the screen door open when the two doors are together. I have only almost smashed it once.
