While traveling this summer, I noticed a very slow leak about a week ago (losing 4 lbs a day).
I got into the Fayetteville, NC area and tried finding someone to fix or replace the tire (a 235x80 22.5 XVR). After calling several local companies, I called Colony Tire (
https://www.colonytire.com/locations/fayetteville-nc) and talked with the counterman Matt. What a refreshing experience. Matt made arrangements for me to come in the next day and ordered a replacement tire in the event my tire wasn't repairable.
I also contacted my tire insurance company to start a claim to repair or replace the tire as per my insurance contract.
Arrived at 1:00 PM, Matt worked me into the scheduled. The tire was removed and determined to be unsafe with a repair due to a nail puncture in the shoulder of the tire.
Matt spoke with the insurance company and confirmed the assessment. Insurance company said okay, replace the tire.
Matt and Colony Tire accepted the payment option straight from the insurance company.
DONE!!
A couple of take aways, the extended warranty on our tire is the only extended warranty we have - it cost $450 for 7 years. Cost of the tire was about $550 for the tire, mounting and tax. Turns out a great deal. Thank you Wholesale Warranties.
Most importanty, if you are in North Carolina and have tire problems - look up the Colony Tire folks - GREAT PEEPS.
