If you look at the photo it is the bottom trim. There was no caulking there. Water could run down the face and right into the RV with the slide in. There are seep cups at each end of the slide designed to catch any moisture that gets in there and evaporate or drain out when the slide is open. But without being sealed it allowed more to get in then the cups are designed to hold. When they over flowed I would find a small amount of water on the floor.
