Ultra low sulfur Fuel and bio-diesel are two different types of diesel fuels. Most recent (since 2006) diesel engines require Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD -less that 15ppm sulfur) and it's difficult to find anything else at the pump.
Bio- diesel is fuel made from other than petroleum base. It can be regular ULSD diesel with 5% bio-fuel (B-5) or 100% bio, made from animal or vegetable fat. (B-100).
Some diesel engines can only use B-5 to B-20 biodiesel so check your engine manual. Mercedes on their diesel engine (My Sprinter) warns against using greater than B-5 bio-diesel.
