I've used the jacks to lift the rig for several reasons - including getting under it to do oil changes/lube...

Probably most unique was when I needed to get it out of the storage yard in Michigan in middle of winter... the rear tires were spinning on ice where they had settled in its parking spot... The storage lot manager had no idea how I was going to get it out...
I just raised up one side with jacks - placed boards under the tires... lowered it... and repeated on the other side - then drove it right out... to their surprise...

If I am getting under the rig in that state - there is some form of jack stands... ramps under tires... etc keeping it up if all else fails...
