Anyway, it was a five minute job to replace the door knob, but when I look at them, it's impossible to tell which is the new one and old one. Is there a way to tell the difference?

see post 59 in this thread. The steel one should have that number stamped on the outside half of the lock. Trimark told me only the outside needed to be changed.
