Hello All,

My wife and I have just purchased our first RV, 2017 Thor Freedom Elite 29FE from Camping World in Syracuse,NY.

We are super excited to get started with our new vehicle but at the same time very nervous about it, since we have very limited personal experience in the art of RV'ing.

I'm sure we'll be back on here asking lots of questions and for opinions.

Congratulations on your new RV ownership and welcome to the forum.

Welcome
You've come to the right place. When I started RVing, there were no Forums. It was the school of hard knocks and a lot of reading.

This is much better. Its a whole bunch of knowledgeable, friendly and helpful people. I'm new here, but so far it is the most pleasant bunch of folks I've met on a forum.

We just started with our new rv also. This forum has been GREAT in getting us headed in the right direction, and to keep us from making some mistakes that we would have already made.

The friendly folks here also helped us in deciding on which coach to get.

Rich and Tina,

We just took our out for its maiden voyage.
the biggest lesson we learned is that if something doesn't work dont get frustrated. just trouble shoot or ask someone.

have fun

Welcome to the forum! Great advice here. We all have stories and you will,to after a few trips. You learn as you go (see my tagline).

A little nervous is good. The wise RV driver is hyper aware of the edges of his rig, and the obstacles and traffic all around. With a longer wheelbase, it won't turn like a car, and watch out for the tail swing when you turn. (You wouldn't be the first to wipe out a gas pump, don't let that happen!)

Enjoy your journeys and remember to share here!

Congrats on the new RV!

I grew up not that far away from you in Cortland. I miss the hills and lakes...

Enjoy and ask all the questions you need to.

Cortland

My wife is a SUNY Cortland graduate and we both work at Cornell University (me 29 years and her 25 years). Central New York is a great place, although the winters suck. We'd stay here the rest of our lives if the tax situation was better for retirees.

Welcome aboard. There is a wealth of information on this board. Feel free to ask questions. And don't forget to wave if you see me on the road :)

Congrats! Welcome to the forum. Nevere hesitate to ask questions. Everyone here would be willing to help. Enjoy

Have fun and read, play in the driveway or local campground for getting your steps down as far as set up and breakdown....and watch videos on youtube! This forum is fantasically amazing! Learn about your component parts and play and get comfortable so that when you really go away....you know! Like a boy scout! Be prepared! Lol:flowers::flowers::LOL:

Welcome to the forum. My wife and I became first time rvers this spring, we are you neighbours to the north, but visit dinaseurs bbq in Syracuse often, enjoy your new rig and like others said, ask lots of questions, we all learn.
