2013 Ram 3500 4X4 and B&W RVK3600 Hitch Settings

I need help from fellow Ram owners with factory puck system and B&W hitch. I have recently purchased the hitch but have not installed yet. Looking at a used RW 36RL and was wondering what vertical bolt position is your hitch set on. Also wanted to know if you are using the bolt hole setting just in front of the axle or over axle.

Dean, I have a 2014 Ford F350 DRW 4x4 with the puck system and am set in the top holes and the forward position. My Ford is also a long box. I pull a 2013 36RE with the air hitch with no problems with this setting. Hope this helps.

the B&W sets high, and if the Redwood has the Tri-glide pin box (with air bag and shock), you are going to need all the room you have to set that tall pin box on top of the hitch and still keep the nose down.

My Reese puck hitch is on the lowest setting (14" high off the bed) and its about perfect. I think the lowest the B&W will go is 16-3/4".

I agree, I do not know what height our hitch is at but with the Tri Glide Pin Box I had to set our Curt Q24 Hitch to the lowest setting to get our RW at level tow height.

Still waiting on a fellow Ram owner as I know these trucks may be a little different in height. I know my Ram looks awfully tall in the back. So far I have a Ford 4X4 at the highest setting, another Ford at the lowest setting and a GM at the lowest setting. Interesting results as with people talking about flipping axels on other forums I was leaning on the lowest setting but still worrying about the clearance between the RV and the bed rails. Any of you have bed rail clearance issues?

Strange, Tom and I have exactly the same truck.

I have well over 12" clearance between the rail and the Redwood, and again I am at the lowest possible setting on the hitch, and the highest possible setting on the pin box.

Our Curt hitch was set at the highest setting for our previous 5th Wheel (it had a MorRyde Pin Box) and now with the RW / TriGlide pin box I had to move our Curt hitch to the lowest setting to get our RW level.
Bed rail clearance is about the same on the RW and our previous 5th Wheel at about 8 inches.

I have a pullrite auto-slider in our shortbed and have no clearance problems with the rv,
but do have some with the electrical junction box RW mounted on the outside back of the hitch...

Given the LONG reach of the trail-air tri-glide AND
the slider moving to the side AND
the junction box extending the already long hitch,
it will strike the bed when I have to crank it close to 90 degrees...

Will move it inside the hitch to avoid this in the future.... wish RW would have done it like on my previous 5ers - the connection were inside the hitch so on hard turns it would avoid things like this :

I did that on my Montana too with the shortbed Ford John. Knocked it clean off.

Brad is right we do have the same truck only difference is our choice of hitches. I went out and measured my B&W and it is 18 3/4 inches off the bed floor. We just got almost 4 inches of rain so I can't hook up and measure bed rail clearance.We both also have the Tri-glide W/ air bag & shock on the RW.

Its strange that we are 4-1/2" different height on hitches, yet I still consider mine level.

I have the hitch at the lowest setting and 1 inch forward and it is perfect.
