Hi Everyone:

We are in the process of purchasing the above unit in Myrtle Beach. Living in WV with an already cold winter, we plan on spending a LOT of time in Myrtle, in the coming months.

I guess my question is directed at Sunset Trail owners. Is there any "oddities" about this unit one should be aware of? It is the "small things" that experience brings.........so, any input would be appreciated.

Can't wait to read some of the neat things people are doing

Regards,

Bill & Jill

Sunset Trail 34 RK I see you are pulling with a 2500 duramax? How does it handle the load?

I can barely tell it's back there. It will pull up most hills maintaining 65 in 6th gear at less than 1600 rpm.

That is good to know. We are planning on leaving our unit in Myrtle for some time, but sometime, down the road, it will come back to WV. Needless to say, it is hills, hills and more hills. I presume it cuts your mileage about in half?

Hills reduce the mileage slightly. The real killer in fuel economy is the parachute effect of dragging the trailer through the air. I get almost as low fuel economy towing my 10' long cargo trailer that weighs 2000#. It has a flat front creating a lot of drag.

Glad to hear that-I have read a lot of people are having slide leaks. I will be leaving in a couple of weeks to go down & check it out-will, for sure, be looking for leak damage :)
