We have a 2010 Freedom Elite 21c RV and we want to low tow a 2014 mini-cooper countryman that has a 6 speed manual transmission. We just purchased the RV in May of 2017 so this is all a new adventure for us. We have made several trips already but have never towed a vehicle.
According to the manual, the RV has a GVWR of 12,500 lbs with a combined GVWR of 18,500 lbs. The mini-cooper manual says that it can be low towed and according to the silver tag on the door has a GVWR of 3858 lbs. This tells me that we should be good-to-go but want to verify this with all the experts on this forum.
If we are good-to-go I want to purchase a BlueOx low tow system with a lighting package and will also install a supplemental braking system.
Any suggestions, comments, tips would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks MUCH !!!

Since your MINI has a maximum allowable weight of 3858; you guys are in great shape! :thumb:
It probably weighs in at about 900 pounds or so less than that... :coolsmiley:
(We had a 2012, and LOVED it!)

We purchased our 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman 6spd for this purpose as well. We have 4,000 pounds to work with on our rig.

You can also steal some weight from the rig as well, just as long as the gross combined weight between the RV and the car does not exceed the GCWR.
