New to Thor.. No parts department at Thor HQ? Really? How do I get parts? Do t tell me the nearest dealer.. That’s 30 miles at Camping World..
I need the strut that attaches at the bottom of the entry door.. I crawled under there and do t see any markings, labels, nothing..

You contact Thor and get a part number then contact a dealer to order the part. There are several dealers that offer internet parts ordering.

That’s not true Jamie..I just got of a call with Thor customer support in Elkhart IN. They do not provide ANY parts assistance, lookup or otherwise. I was given the name of a couple local dealers to work with for parts.. Off I go..

Interesting as that has been Thor's position for a while: get the part # from them and then call the dealer for ordering.

Call these guys.
They’re down the street from Thor.

Done! I’m all set and will use these guys from now on.. BTW, they are lazy days now.. Strut is on order now..

Ted, thanks for your help here, again.. I notice that the strut you point to on Amazon is a 10lb rated strut. When I was talking to the Lazy Days Thor parts desk, they mentioned that Thor upgraded these struts to the 20lb version. That’s what they are sending me.. The parts rep is not aware of why the change, only that there was a change..

As I recall I originally ordered a 20 lb strut for my door and thought it was too strong. I returned it and got the 10 lb strut and it's been working great for over two years.

As you stated Ted, I do t like the #20 strut. Plus, I had to swap out the ends as the new one was too big. I will be returning it and getting the 10lb unit from amazon. Do remember if you had to swap the strut ends out with the new one?
Also, does anyone know what the trick is to tighten up the anchor points for this strut. They both are lose and it’s only a matter of time that they will snap off.
The anchor attached to the door is completely inaccessible. The one on the door threshold is a mystery as well. I removed the 3 screws from the threshold but it doesn’t budge.

This was over two years ago so my memory isn't fully reliable. I think I had to change one end from the old strut to the new strut.

I have to look at mine as the end balls have loosened as well and I think I had to remove the threshold to tighten the ball end on the coach end when I replaced the strut.

LazyDays is in Elkhart? I wonder how much bigger they can get?
Glad to see that you found what you're looking for.:thumb:
