2015 Rally

Great Rally! It was our first and we had a great time. Awesome people and made some great new friends. Hope we can come back for the 2016 rally on Aug 4-6.

Many Thanks to RedWood for the site service, discussions and goodies. The factory tour was great, man I wanted to fill my pockets and truck(I didn't) but really wanted to.

Thanks to all.

Rick

No, at the RW service center the weights were:
Tongue weight 3514,
Left axle: 7462
Right axle: 6560
So they show a total of 17,434. that is about 1,500 higher.

I think if we had decided to go in tomorrow (like they suggested) we would have found their numbers were incorrect. But since we are going to make the change anyway, it just doesn't seem necessary.

Romany Life: Yes, we are full-timers. It is easy to add "stuff" and become overweight quickly--that is why we use the CAT scales throughout the year.

Wow that's a huge difference. Wonder if they need to recertify their scale

It is a huge difference. It is our understanding their scales are certified regularly. We are not sure what the difference is. They were happy to have us come back and reweigh--but after talking, we just don't see the need or benefit in doing that.

We also enjoyed the Rally, met lots of great people, learned much from both other owners and the vendor presentations.
The Factory tour was great and seeing how the Redwood is built gave us that warm and fuzzy feeling that our Redwood will continue to give us a comfortable home in the future.
Thanks to Redwood and all that worked many hours to make this years Rally a successful event.

First we would like to thank everyone involved in organizing the rally. We had a great time. We did not have any "minor" repair items scheduled so no time built into a busy weekend for us. Much to our surprise, on the way here, the rubber in the pin box started working out. We did not know this until we arrived. I showed this to Randy from Crossroads on Thursday morning and he took a picture to send to Lippert to see if I could repair it myself. Also that night at the meet & greet, we mentioned this to our Michigan Redwood sales rep, Vinnie, who we just happen to meet less than two weeks ago. Anyway we mentioned the pin box issue to him and he said he would also follow up. Friday morning about 8am Randy and two other guys from Crossroads were at our site to install a replacement pin box, all at no charge. Now I call that great service! Oh...I forgot to mention we are out of the 2 Year warranty. I had a chance to talk to Jim Lazzarino later Friday and mentioned this to him. He said he had heard about this that morning. In fact, by the time he heard about it, the guys from Crossroads had already taken care of it. Could not be happier with our Redwood, in fact so happy our new 2016 38GK should be delivered in a couple weeks. Thanks again to everyone involved and already looking forward to next years rally and thanks to RW for all the goodies.

To all of you that had your rigs weighed. Would you be kind enough to post your weights with model# and mabybe if fulltime or not so the rest of the group that hasn't had a chance to weigh theirs can get an idea of what they have. Also would be interesting to see the individual tire weights for each model. I am full timing in ours and will get it weighed when we pull out at the end of the month.
Thanks again

We do not full-time, but we do part-time like full-timers when we are out on the road.

36FB with a '14 F-350 4x4 CC

Truck:

R-front: 2500 w/o trailer L-front: 2500 w/o trailer
2600 w/ trailer 2600 w/trailer

R-rear: 2050 w/o trailer L-rear: 2100 w/o trailer
3750 w/trailer 3850 w/trailer

(He gave us two stars for having these weights!)

Trailer:
R-front: 2850 L-front: 3450
R-rear: 2900 L-rear: 3500

(He said the weights on the left of RW's are typically heavy, so those weights are the norm. He also said that if we wanted to help balance out the left, to put my canned goods in a plastic crate and move it to the right side during travel. Not happening!)

We run our G tires at 110 psi always. (another star!)

He said we had plenty of truck to handle our beauty.
We don't have a genny or a w/d unit, only a Dishwasher. We normally have the freshwater tank empty when we travel, but had it full for the weighing. May run with the galley/grey/black at 1/4 full when traveling just to keep it agitated, but not for this weigh-in.

HTH, Shane

Steve

You numbers pretty much match our 38FL numbers, pin weight is about the same as our 38FL, our axle weights are a little higher due to the extra length of the 38FL and we probably carry a little more "Stuff" !!!

I told Steve not to worry as I walked by him with all my shoes and "stuff":whistling: I have thousands of pounds left to go hehehehe

Many thanks to the entire team at REDWOOD RV'S, the crew that Randy brought to the campground was just fabulous. My issues were corrected without flaw other than the outside TV issue which Cliff figured out in no time (thanks again Cliff, hope to see you in Arizona this winter). To the organizers of the REDWOOD group thanks to you for being such great host. I would be remiss not to thank REDWOOD for the door mat and the chairs, what a nice gift.

I haven't had time with getting back to work on Tuesday to say a big thank you to everyone associated with the rally. Steve and I had a great time meeting people from our forum, putting a face to a name was pretty cool. We now have lifetime friends and we hope we get to see everyone for many years to come. Thank you to Redwood for the hospitality. Our factory escort Vinnie was great and so was the group we toured with. I can't list everyone that we meet... I hope Neil and Nancy's rig is back on the road and that they have a great winter with Amazon. Bryant and Kim it was nice chatting with you, Tracey and Vaughn you both out did yourselves with the signs just perfect. Dave and Ginny I'm so glad we got to meet you,you have given Steve and I a huge amount of help in the past and I'm sure it won't stop. The wine was awesome and I need the name cause I might have to get a case ..lol..It was nice meeting Chuck,Jim and Ken and the Redwood staff. After this past week I have a new appreciation for Redwood and I'm happy to belong to the Redwood Owners group as well. We got to spend most of our time with Jim and Susie it was hard leaving as we all got along great and we will miss you both tons. We will definitely keep in touch and get together... who cares about 20 hours apart lol.
Thank you both for your company...lifetime friends :)
looking forward to next year around the campfire!!
