Took delivery of my new Redwood yesterday afternoon. I appreciate the great information on the forum, it helped me confirm my choice to go with Redwood and has provided some great information since I am moving into and setting up my trailer in minus 20 temps.

I have spent the past 3 winters in a Blackstone bumper pull so RV'ng in the winter isn't new to me but I think it was a lot more straightforward than this Redwood.

Was hoping that the weather was changing for the better, though the forecast doesn't look good. Amazing how the skirting on my Blackstone kept the basement much warmer. Hopefully I can survive without skirting till spring.

winter

be sure not to turn on the fridge water/ice valve under the sink. as it goes outside and will surely freeze. from what i have read on this site i'm sure you will need to skirt the unit and put some sort of heating below.

That thing has wheels on it, they allow you to tow it OUT OF that white stuff, and place it in WHITE SAND . .!:D

Looks good, Good Luck, and enjoy!

I wish I could park it in the sand!!

In 2003 we pulled our Vanguard 24' bumper pull to Mexico and were living on the beach with gorgeous white sand (Xpu Ha). The first few days were awesome and we felt so special and talked about the wonderful quality of the flour like sand and how we were living the life. Meh, the odd grain of sand here and there in the RV, life is grand. After a few more days my wife was a little more concerned about the sand being tracked into the RV, but still - oh the life. By the end of week 2 my wife was a nagging lunatic (my assessment not hers) about the damn sand. Living on the beach had taken its toll on us, the wind blowing everything around and sand had made its way into every crack and crevice in the trailer and our 5 yo daughter had a full time look of being breaded in sand. A happy life is a happy wife, so a few days later we moved to a place called Paa Mul and lived just off the beach.

After 10 years, time to make some money again, so I have to put up with the snow. At least now I am living in a glitzy Redwood trailer and heck in 2 more weeks I will be on the beach in Mexico visiting our home there for a well deserved 8 week holiday.

Ted, I know I need a skirt. I am living dry right now and getting a feel for the unit before I have a skirt made.

Pez, I'm headed up very near you tomorrow to look at a construction job for 2019. Hoping to fly in tomorrow and out on Friday. That is all the cold weather I want. LOL

Pez, I don't think I lost anything near Moose Jaw for me to go back for until it warms up some... We arrived Wednesday when it was 32 and no wind and Thursday morning was -13 an wind blowing like hell from the northwest. I'm back in Houston where it's nice and warm..

Spin, I work in renewable construction.

Spin, Yes, I work in oilfield construction.

Bug, that wind is relentless. I have been able to find some nice spots to enjoy when the wind dies down.

The Redwood can not survive without skirting when it is this cold. Lucky I winterized the water system. Honestly I was hoping for a bit better performance in the cold, but a skirt will take care of most of the cold floor and drafty seals on the slides.

Stay warm.
