Hi, we just picked up this used unit and are struggling to replace the Axxera ASC419N radio. What a piece of junk.
The radio is a multi-piece system. The head unit comes off with just some screws from behind it. The cable goes thru a slit in the dash. The top of the dash needs to be removed to get at the remainder.
The dash top is held on by velcro and we were scared that we would rip it apart, as the velcro is so strong.
Has anyone successfully found a radio and set up to keep the turn signal cameras and rear camera? I found a BOSS BECPA10W that has the same connector as the harness. Now, I need to find a way to get to the turn signal cameras. Looking at CRUX CSS-41 for adapter. Also, need to find a way to use the Steering Wheel Controls. (SWC)

Go to the search box in upper right hand corner and type in Axxera radio replacement many choices none are plug and play. I remember there was one who’s plug matched but the radio was same Axxera quality

Hi, I have used the search numerous times. This one isn't really anywhere that explain the removal and install of this particular radio. Here are some pics.
The montitor attaches to the top of the dash and a cable feeds thru the opening in the dash. I will need to cut a single din opening in the dash. I just need to figure out how to keep the SWC and cameras with my new radio. BOSS BECPA10W

My understanding is that the radio has a single input for the camera function. There is a seperate device that has inputs for the rear view camera and each turn signal camera that then sends the appropriate signal to the radio (based on shifting into reverse or using a turn signal).

The Kenwood I put into our ACE (to replace a Jensen) has a plug for SWC. But our rig does not have controls in the steering wheel so there was nothing to plug in.

There are now
No din
Radio heads.
The description says double din but those are unneeded legs to fit a double din hole.

All a radio head needs is one video input. Nothing more.
The control for the cameras IS NOT in the radiohead(on most the axxera radios).

There is no shame in going to a stereo store and having them do it.
I dropped it off, walked for a burger at Dennys, came back in two hours and my two overhead video monitors and my radio were installed.
No fret.

Why is it technically a double din?
Because it has an adapter that must be bolted on to make it a double din?

If you don't use the adapters....what is it?

It fit the rear view mirror mount in my polaris ranger just fine and that isn't double din.

I would consider returning what you have purchased and buying a compatible radio.

No, this is not that radio. See the pics I have attached. Your Jensen/Kenwood is completely different than this unit. Yours is a double DIN.
Yes, I understand. My comment was in regard to a head unit/radio that allows you to see the rear view or side view (turn signal) cameras. The switching is probably done external to the head unit/radio. But I admit I don't know the details of your rig's radio. So if it does not apply, just ignore.

His radio DOES have 3 camera inputs.
So does mine but I only use one for the turn signal rear view system.
He might need a remote unit for the control.

Control and input are different things.

I can (with the push of a button) see the rock cameras or downward facing front camera under my offroader...or i can see my rear view camera. Each plugs into one of three inputs on my radio head.
but I have to select one of the three inputs MANUALLY. None of them could know anything about anything except show/no show.

Without the thor semi-standard controller he can only see one camera manually(unless he has some wierd rv-centric radio head he's installing)

This radio bolts on with those brackets. Not sure I want it sticking out of the dash.
I am looking for owners that have done a swap from this Axxera radio.

The Axxera Radio has 3 inputs. one for rear and one each for the side cameras. it uses an Axxera box to separate the left and right from the turn signal 'signal'. But, that box won't work with a new radio, as it has a 2x4 pin connector with only 1 wire attached coming from that box. See previous pics.
I found this. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_249CSS41/CRUX-CSS-41.html?tp=71428
it may help the connecion.
I am still looking for SWC.

Don’t the 3 cameras on come into external box with same connection, then the existing box bring them down to one signal and plugs into radio so eliminate the box and let new radio do the work or maybe I should have gone back and read OP again

No, the existing radio has all 3 RCA jacks plugged directly into the back of this radio. The external box must control the turn signal 'signals'.
